This study aims to shed light on the most dangerous types of modern narcotics in the world, which are some eye drops, and the challenges of preventing them. The problem of the study is summarized in the main question, which is, “What are the preventive measures to prevent the abuse of Medrapid and Belgium eye drops as narcotics in Palestine?” The importance of the study appears to be that it sheds light on the most dangerous types of narcotics in the world, which are Medrapid and Belgium eye drops, in terms of definition and medical use, and on the methods of taking them as narcotics, and on the preventive measures required by decision-makers in Palestine. The study is divided into three sections:

The first section: Medrapid and Belgium eye drops -definition, effect and medical use.

The second section: Methods of taking Medrapid and Belgium eye drops and using them as narcotics.

The third topic: Preventive measures required to prevent the abuse of Medrapid and Belgium eye drops as narcotics in Palestine.

The study concluded with a set of results and recommendations, perhaps the most important of which are the following:

Medrapid and Belgium eye drops are a medical drug that has therapeutic uses, and there are some people in some Arab and Western countries who have taken these drops as narcotics. Some Arab countries sensed this danger, such as Iraq, Algeria, and Egypt, and the dispensing of this active substance was prohibited except with a special medical prescription and was included. On the lists of narcotic drugs in those countries.

In Palestine, Mydrapid drops and its active ingredient are not included in the list of narcotic drugs, prohibited in general, or issued by special medical prescription.

Among the most important recommendations:

1-Requesting the competent authorities to take the necessary preventive measures and procedures to prevent the dispensing of these drops except with a special medical prescription.

2-Requesting the competent authorities to include the active ingredient (Tropicamide) among the narcotic substances in Palestine from the perspective of preventive medicine.

3-Calling on the competent authorities to tighten the punishment for dealers, promoters, and users of narcotic substances in all their forms.
