This study aims to shed light on the biometrics system and its uses in forensic sciences. The problem of the study is summarized in the main question, which is, “What is the biometrics system and what are its uses in forensic sciences?” The importance of the study appears to be that it sheds light on the biometrics system. Biometrics, its uses and applications in forensic sciences, as well as its future and drawbacks.
The study is divided into two sections: The first topic: Definition of the biometrics system, its classifications and fields in forensic sciences. The second section: Applications, future and drawbacks of the biometrics system.
The study concluded with a set of results and recommendations, perhaps the most important of which are the following: The biometrics system is used in the field of forensic science to automatically identify individuals based on their unique physical or behavioral characteristics, such as fingerprints, facial features, voice pattern, and gait. This is to identify and verify identity. Through the application of the biometrics system in forensic sciences, it has been facilitated to identify the perpetrators of crimes and achieve the speed of their arrest, as well as the identification of victims or victims, in addition to creating an important reference and resource for information and data related to those with criminal records, detecting the perpetrators of crimes, and speeding up their arrest and submission. For justice.
Among the most important recommendations: Biometrics are personal information that reveals a lot about a person’s characteristics. Therefore, protection must be provided for the data stored about him. Security must be increased in personal authentication systems based on biometrics in several ways. Those in charge of forensic laboratories in Palestine must pay attention to them and work to possess this Technology because of their impact on achieving security, safety and safety for society.
