Process for identification of and dealing with allegations of research Misconduct

plagiarism policy:

Plagiarism is the unethical act of copying the previous ideas, processes, results, or words of another person without explicit acknowledgment of the original author and source. Self-plagiarism occurs when an author uses a significant portion of their previously published work without using proper references. This can range from publishing the same manuscript in multiple journals to modifying a previously published manuscript with some new data.

The journal is against any unethical act of copying or plagiarism in any form.

Members of the editorial board, scientific committee and reviewers are required to be aware of all types of misconduct in order to identify papers in which research misconduct has occurred or appears to have occurred.

All manuscripts submitted for publication in the journal are checked for plagiarism using Turnitin or other software. Manuscripts found to be plagiarized during the early stages of review.

If it is proven that the published research contains plagiarism, it will be removed immediately. The researcher will be suspended from publishing in the journal for a period of three years.

Types of plagiarism:

  • Complete plagiarism: Previously published content without any changes in the text, idea and grammar is considered complete plagiarism. It involves presenting accurate text from a source as its own.
  • Partial Plagiarism: If the content is a mixture of multiple different sources, where the author has extensively paraphrased the text, it is known as partial plagiarism.
  • Self-plagiarism: When an author reuses entire or parts of his or her previously published research, it is known as self-plagiarism. Complete plagiarism is a case where an author republishes his or her previously published work in a new journal.

Publication Ethics:
Publisher's Responsibilities:
The publisher has the following responsibilities:
1. EBERS follows the Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
2. The journal supports the efforts of the editors, the academic contributions of the authors, and the work of the reviewers. The publisher is also responsible for ensuring that the publishing system runs smoothly and for applying ethical guidelines to assist the editor, author, and reviewer in performing their ethical duties. Editor's responsibilities
Editor's Responsibilities:
The editor has the following responsibilities:
1.EBERS follows the Code of Conduct and best practice guidelines issued by the Committee of Publication Ethics (COPE) for journal editors.
2.The editor confirms receipt of submitted papers within two business days of receipt and ensures an efficient, fair and timely review process.
3.The editor will ensure that submitted research papers are reviewed in a confidential manner, and that no content of the research papers will be disclosed to anyone other than the author, reviewers, and publisher, as applicable.
4.The editor recuses himself from reviewing papers if he or she has any conflict of interest with any of the authors or institutions related to the papers.
5.The editor must not disclose the names and other details of reviewers to third parties without the reviewers' permission. Author's Responsibilities.
6.The editor has the right to make the final decision on acceptance or rejection of research papers, noting the importance, originality, clarity and relevance of the research papers to the journal.
Author's Responsibilities:
The author has the following responsibilities:
1.An author should not submit concurrent papers (or papers that essentially describe the same topic) to multiple journals. Likewise, the author must not send any research paper previously published anywhere to journals for consideration. Publishing articles on a particular topic, such as translations, in more than one journal is acceptable if certain conditions are met.
2.The author must provide an accurate and concise account of his or her research and an unbiased description of its significance.
3.The author must collect and interpret his or her research data honestly. Publishers, editors, reviewers, and readers have the right to request that an author provide metadata for his or her manuscript to facilitate editorial review and public access. If possible, the author should retain this data for any possible use after publication.
4.The author must ensure that the works he or she submits are original. If the author has used work and/or words by others, appropriate citations are required. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.
5.The author must explicitly indicate all sources that supported the research and also declare any conflicts of interest.
6.The author must give due credit to all those who made contributions to the research. Those who contributed significantly to the research should be listed as co-authors. The author must ensure that all co-authors have confirmed the final version of the paper and approved its final publication.
7.The author must immediately inform the journal editor of any apparent error(s) in his or her published paper and diligently cooperate with the editor in retracting or correcting the paper. If the editor is notified by any party other than the author that a published paper contains an obvious error, the author must write a retraction or make a correction based on the medium of publication.
Reviewer Responsibilities:
The auditor has the following responsibilities:
1.The journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for peer reviewers.
2.A reviewer who feels that he or she is not qualified to review assigned papers or confirms that he or she cannot meet the deadline for completing the review should immediately notify the editor and relieve himself or herself from the review process for this manuscript.
3.The reviewer must inform the editor to step down from reviewing research papers in the event of a conflict of interest. Specifically, a reviewer must recuse himself from reviewing any paper written or co-authored by someone with whom he or she has a clear personal or academic relationship if the relationship could introduce bias or a reasonable perception of bias.
4.References must treat research papers in a confidential manner. Research papers should not be disclosed or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
5.The auditor must approach the peer review function objectively. Personal criticism of the author is not accepted.
6.The reviewer should not use for his or her own research any part of any data or work reported in submitted articles that has not yet been published.
7.The reviewer must immediately notify the editor of any similarities between a paper under review and another paper either published or under consideration by another journal. A reviewer should immediately draw the editor's attention to papers containing plagiarized material or falsified data.
Changing or modifying published research:
Replacement: Published papers can be replaced if the author(s) submit an updated paper. Before accepting replacement requests, the Editorial Board and Editor-in-Chief must have adequately spoken with the author(s), and at least three reviewers must check the progress. • The old version should be kept separately, and if someone wants to check the old version, the editor can send the PDF file to him/her.
• Note that replacement is only accepted once, and for technical advancement purposes only.
Remove or delete:
Published papers will be removed if reviewers, readers, librarians, publishers, or other subjects notice significant errors or plagiarism. Before removing a manuscript, the editorial board and editor-in-chief must adequately talk to the authors and must allow sufficient time to obtain the authors' explanations. If the paper is approved to be removed, the following will be done:
• The paper in the journal database will be removed.
• The link on the publishing website will be removed.
• The following or similar statement explaining why will be displayed below the paper title in the table of contents and journal volume page: (This paper has been removed due to plagiarism).
